MOLE & SKIN TAG REMOVAL:

Mole and skin tag removal is a minor aesthetic procedure performed to improve skin appearance and comfort. Depending on the lesion to be removed either cryotherapy or cautery is used to remove the area. For all moles of unknown origin a written letter from you GP will be required advising safety to remove.

We do however offer a mole screening service for up to 4 lesions. Photographs are taken in clinic using specialist equipment and is sent to a dermatologist to review. Reports and diagnosis usually take 72hrs.

PROCEDURE DETAILS:

  • Typically lasts 15–30 minutes depending on the number and size of lesions.

  • Local anaesthetic may be applied for comfort.

AFTERCARE:

  • Mild redness or scabbing may occur for several days.

  • Patients should avoid picking or scratching the treated area and follow practitioner’s care instructions.

  • Sun protection is recommended to reduce pigmentation changes.

SUITABILITY:

  • Most healthy individuals are suitable candidates.

  • A consultation is required to assess the lesion and determine the safest approach.

CONTRAINDICATIONS:

  • Lesions suspected to be malignant.

  • Active skin infections or certain chronic skin conditions.

  • Patients with compromised healing or certain medical conditions may require specialist assessment.

RESULTS:

  • Lesions are usually removed in a single session, however repeat treatment may be necessary.

  • Follow-up may be recommended to monitor healing.
