RED VEIN TREATMENT (FACE)

RED VEIN TREATMENT (FACE):

Red vein treatment is used to reduce visible superficial blood vessels on the face, commonly referred to as thread veins or telangiectasia. These typically appear on the cheeks, nose, and chin.

Treatment is usually carried out using either IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) or laser technology. Light energy is directed into the skin where it is absorbed by haemoglobin within the blood vessels. This generates heat, causing the vessel walls to collapse and seal. The body then gradually reabsorbs the treated vessels.

TREATMENT DETAILS:

  • Session time: 15–30 minutes (depending on area size)

  • Number of sessions: Typically 2–4 sessions required

  • Interval between sessions: 4–6 weeks

  • Anaesthesia: Not required

  • Downtime: Minimal (mild redness for 24–48 hours is common)

EXPECTED RESULTS:

Some vessels may reduce immediately, while others fade over a period of 2–6 weeks as the body clears them. Multiple sessions are usually needed to achieve consistent results, particularly for more extensive or stubborn vessels.

SUITABILITY.

  • Best suited for fair to medium skin tones

  • Effective for small, superficial facial veins

  • Not suitable for very dark skin types or certain vascular conditions

A consultation is required prior to treatment to assess suitability and identify any contraindications.
