How iPixel Works

iPixel Laser Resurfacing works through the science of fractional renewal from an Erbium-YAG laser. Each laser pulse delivers precise energy into the skin in a grid pattern, creating microscopic treatment zones known as microthermal channels.

These channels trigger a controlled healing response. Fibroblast cells become more active, producing new collagen and elastin to replace old or damaged tissue. The surrounding untreated skin accelerates recovery, allowing rapid healing with minimal downtime.

This process remodels the skin from within, improving tone, texture and firmness over time. Because the Alma Harmony XL Proallows fine control of wavelength and depth, each treatment can be tailored to specific concerns such as uneven texture, pigmentation or mild scarring.

By targeting only a fraction of the skin at once, iPixel achieves powerful rejuvenation while maintaining comfort and safety. This is different to traditional fully ablative resurfacing lasers that work by removing the entire surface of the epidermis which, whilst incredibly effective, results in greater discomfort and prolonged healing time.

The results build gradually as new collagen strengthens the dermal structure and the surface becomes smoother, brighter and more even.

Results and Aftercare

Results from iPixel Laser Resurfacing develop gradually. Most patients notice brighter, more even skin within a week, followed by ongoing refinement as collagen rebuilds.

Typical timeline:

  • Days 1–3: Mild redness or warmth. Some flaking may occur.

  • Days 4–7: Skin begins to feel softer and more refined.

  • Weeks 2–6: Collagen activity increases; firmness and tone improve.

  • Months 2–3: Results reach their peak, with smoother texture and radiance.

Aftercare essentials:

  • Use SPF 50 daily and avoid direct sun exposure.

  • Keep the skin hydrated with a gentle moisturiser.

  • Avoid retinoids or exfoliation until redness has settled.

  • Allow the skin to shed naturally — do not pick or peel.

You will be given home care products to see you through the skin recovery process after resurfacing.
